Circles

and additional resources

Every circle is unique, and offers its own specific mission, vision, and ethos. All circles will maintain basic Gold Mining principles, centered in active listening and personal development. Circles are approximately 120 minutes.

Men's Gold Mining Circle, USA

The Gold Mining Circle is a space for people to support each other in developing themselves through mission. Born out of structures common to men's work, each circle flows through a series of four rounds: Lover, Warrior, Magician, and King. Each participant has an opportunity to work through current and longstanding challenges that keep them from harnessing, experiencing, and expressing their inner gold. Concurrently, each participant supports others through active listening and development processes.

This group's purpose is to facilitate the individual and collective development of one's life's purpose and mission by providing tools, mutual support, and space for practicing leadership. This is a space for supporting one another and reframing our own stories in a way that supports oneself. In this circle, we hold space for experiencing feelings of all kinds, for all of us to co-exist, for all of us to learn and grow together, to uncover and explore gender stereotypes, to explore curiosity, and most importantly, hold space for what is in the present.

Feeding the story - Hero's journey men's circle

Share in the ancient art of oral storytelling as we explore stories from ancient cultures. Learn the process of feeding the story and in so doing increase your own self awareness and hone your communication abilities to improve your relations with self and those you interact with on a daily basis. Explore the stories we tell ourselves and the stories we allow others to tell us about ourselves. Is there a purpose to suffering? What happens when stories collide? All of this and more we explore each night in our post story discussions.

additional resources

There are many great resources from which we draw. For a day-by-day program that helps you develop many of the skills and tools we use here in our gold mining circles, we highly recommend checking out the Omega Point Academy. To delve into a purpose-forward program, we recommend Craig Filek's Purpose Mapping coaching and courses. And of course, the largest contributor to the structure with which we run our circles comes from the Mankind Project (MKP). MKP has a network of men's circles and events, including the New Warrior Training, around the world.
